Assistant Financial Controller – Manufacturing MNC (East)

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Financial Controller to support the finance function of a manufacturing multinational in Singapore. The role combines financial, accounting, tax, payroll and IT responsibilities to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage financial, accounting, taxation, IT and reporting functions.
• Review and improve internal controls and procedures.
• Support payroll operations using the EPE system and prepare journal entries.
• Prepare and transmit annual employee income details (IR8A) to IRAS.
• Handle NSmen make‑up pay claims and liaise with NS Pay Centres.
• Oversee statutory audit, review work papers, compute corporate tax and draft financial statements.
• File audited financial statements in XBRL format with ACRA.
• Prepare monthly profit‑and‑loss comparisons, sales and profitability reports.
• Review raw material pricing and recommend standard cost revisions quarterly.
• Maintain banking relationships and coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants and government agencies.
• Manage corporate income tax, transfer pricing, GST, withholding tax and property tax matters.
• Administer CorpPass for digital government services.
• Coordinate government grant applications and support other departments on finance and IT matters.
• Supervise and develop finance and IT staff, and evaluate system upgrades.
• Stay updated on regulations through courses and professional networks.

Required profile

• Manager‑level experience in finance, accounting, tax and payroll within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore tax regulations, IRAS filing and statutory audit processes.
• Ability to oversee staff and coordinate with external stakeholders.
