Assistant Fire Project Manager

About the role

Johnson Controls is hiring an Assistant Fire Project Manager to manage fire projects of medium to large scale, including complex installations and retrofits. The role carries full ownership of project performance, budget and schedule, and involves leading a project team while maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate allocated fire projects so they are delivered within scope, on time and on budget
• Own project financials (revenue, margin rate expansion, UBR and AR) and operational metrics, working with the Country Finance team and Financial Controllers
• Drive and monitor the Fulfilment 5 cadence (cost, cash, schedule, quality and EHS)
• Lead, coach and manage the project team, and act as project team leader
• Develop and manage detailed project schedules, work plans, cash flow planning and resource planning
• Manage the process from proposal through project turnover, and run risk and opportunity reviews
• Monitor project financial KPIs and champion continuous improvement, such as project closing and transition processes
• Oversee contracting strategy and execution, including tender and bid evaluations, site progress, budgeting and scheduling
• Support pre-sales scoping and deliverables with sales, procurement and control managers
• Resolve escalated project management, installation and service issues with customers and stakeholders

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; another advanced degree required, additional technical degree preferred
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in fire industry operations and maintenance
• Strong knowledge of project management and proven track record of delivering results with accountability
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with internal colleagues and external customers and stakeholders

Required skills

• Knowledge of fire code of practice, sprinkler and piping design, and fire alarm systems
• Knowledge of JC Tyco products
• Cost and schedule control, progress monitoring and evaluation
