Assistant Housekeeper

About the role

The Assistant Housekeeper supports the Assistant Executive Housekeeper in overseeing the daily housekeeping operations at Mondrian Singapore. This onsite position ensures guest rooms, corridors, and public areas are clean, well‑maintained, and presented to the hotel’s high standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and allocate work to Room Attendants and Linen Porters on assigned floors.
• Monitor the computer system for room status updates and ensure rooms are returned to standard condition.
• Report out‑of‑order, Do‑Not‑Disturb, or double‑locked rooms and log maintenance defects.
• Liaise with Maintenance and Reception to resolve room issues promptly.
• Maintain soft furnishings, décor, and oversee deep‑cleaning and replacement programmes.
• Check arrivals, departures, and VIP lists; ensure VIP rooms meet premium standards and gifts are replenished.
• Control issuance and recording of keys and bleeps for departmental staff.
• Verify adequate linen, cleaning materials, and guest supplies are stocked on each floor.
• Assist with stock‑taking, lost‑property reporting, and emergency procedures.
• Participate in weekly inspections and implement green policies to reduce waste and energy consumption.

Required profile

• Ability to supervise and motivate housekeeping staff.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to hotel cleanliness standards.
• Effective communication with maintenance, reception, and other departments.
• Familiarity with housekeeping computer systems and key control procedures.
• Willingness to work onsite in a fast‑paced hotel environment.
