Assistant Manager, Accounts Receivable

About the role

This position supports the end‑to‑end Accounts Receivable (AR) process across regional and head‑office units, focusing on execution, control, and stakeholder alignment. The role contributes directly to performance improvements and system advancement within a 1‑year fixed‑term contract.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate AR activities, ensuring timely billing, receipt posting, and journal entries.
• Monitor group aging reports, drive resolution of overdue balances, and manage escalation protocols.
• Collaborate on offsetting proposals, netting arrangements, and collections with internal and external partners.
• Oversee charter‑hire billing, collections, and reconciliation, maintaining accurate records.
• Prepare monthly AR schedules, perform variance analysis, and support month‑end closing activities.
• Assist in quarterly Expected Credit Loss (ECL) calculations and provision analysis.
• Review refund processes, validate withholding tax, bank charges, and write‑offs with proper approvals.
• Promote internal controls, standardized AR procedures, and credit‑management best practices globally.
• Participate in AR system testing and enhancements, and address auditor queries.
• Mentor AR team members and foster a culture of accountability and collaboration.

Required profile

• Degree/Diploma in Accountancy or equivalent; ACCA qualification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in shipping, logistics, or multinational environments.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Self‑driven, dependable, and comfortable working in a team‑oriented setting.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving abilities and high attention to detail.
