Assistant Manager – Engineering Services (Development & Estate)

About the role

The National Institute of Education (NIE) seeks an Assistant Manager to support the Head of the Development & Estate Department. This role focuses on managing the campus’s electrical and low‑voltage systems, ensuring reliable operation and overseeing infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Manage High Tension and Low Tension electrical systems across the NIE campus.
• Oversee Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems and ensure their reliability.
• Supervise electricity metering, billing, and the Power Monitoring System.
• Handle procurement and contract administration for maintenance and project works.
• Direct the maintenance regime for all assigned systems and supervise contractor activities.
• Lead Addition & Alteration (A&A) and improvement projects.

Required profile

• University degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services or Building Science.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in operation, maintenance, or project management of electrical systems.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical system design, installation and maintenance.
• Experience with Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) systems such as ACMV and fire protection is advantageous.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership abilities.
• Self‑starter with initiative, able to work in ambiguous and agile environments.
