Assistant Manager, Product Owner - Shipping / Maritime

About the role

A well-established global maritime organisation, a leading provider of container feeder shipping solutions, is looking for an Assistant Manager, Product Owner to lead Master Data Management (MDM) initiatives and drive digital transformation across its shipping operations. The role sits in central Singapore, near an MRT station, and suits someone who enjoys bridging business and technology.

Key responsibilities

• Drive MDM product initiatives aligned with business objectives and operational needs
• Gather and analyse business needs with stakeholders and turn them into user stories with clear acceptance criteria
• Define product roadmaps, prioritise requirements and manage product backlogs
• Act as liaison between business users, IT, Engineering and Quality Assurance teams
• Lead business process re-engineering, change management and transformation work
• Oversee project scope, milestones, dependencies and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Promote stakeholder alignment and product adoption

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Science or a related discipline
• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification is mandatory
• Maritime / shipping industry experience is essential
• At least 5 years of experience in complex Agile / Scrum projects, product ownership or digital transformation
• Good understanding of MDM systems and processes

Required skills

• Knowledge of SDLC, Agile and Scrum
• Product backlog management, requirements gathering and business process re-engineering
• Analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
