Assistant Manager, Strategic Sourcing

About the role

The Assistant Manager, Strategic Sourcing will support NTU’s procurement function by developing and executing category strategies that align with institutional goals. This role involves market analysis, supplier partnership management, and continuous improvement of sourcing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans for multiple categories, analysing market trends and setting performance targets.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with suppliers, including selection, onboarding, contract negotiation and performance management.
• Conduct market research on pricing, supplier capabilities, emerging technologies and competitive landscape to inform sourcing decisions.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to align category strategies with overall organisational objectives and spending analysis.
• Define, monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as customer satisfaction and supplier performance, driving optimisation.
• Identify and mitigate procurement risks and lead tender processes, delivering road‑maps that meet NTU deliverables.
• Promote continuous improvement and innovation by exploring new sourcing approaches and staying updated on industry best practices.

Required profile

• Minimum Diploma/Degree equivalent with 4‑6 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of Procure‑to‑Pay (P2P) processes.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently and as part of a team.
• Proactive learner willing to acquire new skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for analytical tasks and quantitative modelling.
• Experience with financial systems such as SAP.
• Familiarity with procurement platforms like Ariba.
