Assistant Manager - System Business Analyst

About the role

A Singapore-based conglomerate covering retail, financial services, property development and hospitality is hiring an Assistant Manager - System Business Analyst. The role partners with business stakeholders to define requirements for system enhancements, change requests and projects, and supports the business analysts on the team. It is a permanent position, open to work from home or hybrid.

Key responsibilities

• Gather, analyse and document business requirements for system enhancements, change requests and projects.
• Prepare and review Functional Specification Documents (FSDs), defining requirements, business rules, process flows and acceptance criteria.
• Facilitate requirement workshops, stakeholder discussions and process reviews.
• Coordinate change requests from submission through implementation, managing priorities, scope, timelines and stakeholder expectations.
• Work with Project Managers, System Analysts, developers and vendors so solutions match approved requirements.
• Support User Acceptance Testing, including test planning, defect tracking, issue resolution and obtaining business sign-off.
• Monitor project progress in tools such as Freshservice, ClickUp or Jira, highlighting risks, blockers and dependencies.
• Mentor Business Analysts, help coordinate workloads, review documents and share best practices.
• Keep business and technical teams informed and escalate key issues.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis or application delivery.
• Proven experience gathering and documenting requirements, process flows, business rules, user stories and functional specifications.
• Knowledge of the full software delivery lifecycle, including requirements, solution design, UAT, implementation and change management.
• Experience working with business users, project teams, developers and external vendors.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and organisational skills; able to mentor junior team members.
• Advantageous: exposure to enterprise applications such as ERP, CRM, retail, finance, inventory, POS or e-commerce.

Required skills

• Jira, Freshservice, Azure DevOps, ClickUp or similar workflow and ticketing platforms.
• Business Analysis, Agile, ITIL, CBAP or CCBA certification is a plus but not essential.
