Assistant Principal Engineer – Passenger Information Systems

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Principal Engineer to lead C++ development of our Video Surveillance System (VSS) solutions and to build a robust test‑as‑code framework for verification and validation teams across global railway projects. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality, modular software for mission‑critical passenger information systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop train VSS and CCTV systems using C++.
• Design and implement an automated regression testing infrastructure from scratch with Python and Robot Framework.
• Write clean, maintainable production code and ensure the automation framework adapts to project‑specific needs.
• Collaborate with system and software teams to integrate video solutions into the broader Passenger Information System architecture.
• Manage source code and version control via Bitbucket and perform static analysis using CodeSonar.
• Translate complex system requirements into technical specifications and automated test scripts.
• Ensure scalability and performance of video streaming and recording within the railway ecosystem.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in C++ for high‑performance or embedded applications.
• Proven experience building automated test frameworks with Python and Robot Framework.
• Familiarity with software development processes, version control tools, and requirements traceability.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and provide technical direction in a dynamic engineering environment.
