Assistant Professor – AI/ML in Precision Medicine

About the role

Duke‑NUS Medical School’s Centre for Biomedical Data Science is seeking a tenure‑track Assistant Professor to lead cutting‑edge research in artificial intelligence and machine learning applied to precision medicine, clinical research, omics, imaging and population health.

Key responsibilities

• Lead an innovative AI/ML research programme with applications in precision medicine, clinical research, omics, imaging or population health.
• Translate and implement advanced analytic approaches, such as multimodal AI, into clinical and biomedical settings with SingHealth and NUS collaborators.
• Collaborate with clinicians, biomedical researchers and statisticians across SingHealth, NUS, Duke University and national precision‑medicine initiatives.
• Mentor and supervise PhD students, building local capacity in methodology and translational AI.
• Secure research grants, provide research leadership and disseminate findings through high‑impact publications.
• Support teaching in biostatistics, health data science and related programmes.

Required profile

• PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science or a related quantitative discipline, with demonstrated application of AI in biomedical or clinical contexts.
• Strong publication record in reputable journals and recognized contributions to healthcare AI methodology or applications.
• Proven track record in obtaining and contributing to research grants as Principal Investigator or Co‑Investigator.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and effective communication across multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience working on multidisciplinary projects involving clinicians, researchers and statisticians.
