Assistant Professor – Physics (Condensed Matter & Quantum)

About the role

The Department of Physics at the National University of Singapore seeks an Assistant Professor to lead high‑impact research and teaching in the areas of Condensed Matter Physics, Quantum Information and Quantum Physics. This tenure‑track position offers the opportunity to build an independent research programme, collaborate with international partners, and contribute to undergraduate and graduate education.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and conduct original, high‑quality research in the specified physics domains.
• Secure external research funding from Singapore agencies such as the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the National Research Foundation (NRF).
• Teach and supervise undergraduate and graduate courses, including student research projects.
• Engage in interdisciplinary collaborations within the university.
• Participate in departmental service and academic committees as required.

Required profile

• PhD in Physics or a closely related discipline.
• Post‑doctoral research experience with a strong publication record.
• Demonstrated ability to attract research grants.
• Experience in university‑level teaching is desirable.
