Assistant Retail Manager

About the role

The Assistant Retail Manager supports the store manager in driving sales performance and operational excellence across POPULAR BOOK COMPANY's outlets in Singapore. You will lead a team of sales associates, ensure inventory accuracy, and uphold high standards of customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and coach store staff to achieve key performance indicators.
• Monitor inventory levels, coordinate replenishment, and manage the return cycle.
• Improve existing procedures and ensure compliance with paperwork and operational policies.
• Supervise stock‑takes and random inventory counts.
• Oversee daily store opening, closing, and cash‑handling processes, including banking of sales.
• Manage manpower planning, scheduling and performance monitoring.
• Participate in budget planning and cost control activities.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by senior management.

Required profile

• Diploma holder with a minimum of 3 years of retail supervisory experience.
• Customer‑service oriented with a pleasant disposition.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Team player who can also work independently.
• Willingness to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays.
