Assistant Vice President / Vice President, Business Finance & Governance (Consumer Banking)

About the role

Group Finance supports the bank's business decisions with reporting, financial planning, finance processes, capital management, business planning, forecasting and tax and accounting advisory. This role supports Consumer Banking Group Finance across business performance, financial management, governance and operational excellence, potentially covering Cards, Payments and Unsecured Loans, and improving recurring finance processes through data, automation and AI-enabled tools. It is based at DBS Asia Central.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Business Finance support for assigned portfolios such as Cards, Payments and Unsecured Loans.
• Own the end-to-end month-end close, ensuring timely and accurate entries, reconciliations, supporting schedules and management reporting.
• Prepare and enhance dashboards, KPI reporting, business reviews and presentation materials, reducing manual effort and review iterations.
• Support financial planning, performance analysis, forecasting, business event assessment and ad hoc management reviews.
• Drive governance, risk and control activities, including audit follow-ups, control attestations, issue tracking and remediation monitoring.
• Partner with Finance, Business, Operations, Technology, Risk and Audit to deliver timely outcomes and resolve issues.
• Identify opportunities to simplify, automate and transform finance processes using data, analytics, workflow automation and generative AI.
• Design, test and implement scalable process improvements that improve data quality, reduce manual effort and strengthen decision support.

Required profile

• Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business or a related discipline, with relevant experience in Business Finance, financial reporting, management accounting, controls, governance or business management in financial services.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, performance management, planning and control; experience supporting Consumer Banking businesses, products or expense management is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills, able to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Technology- and AI-savvy, with a demonstrated interest in applying automation, analytics and generative AI to finance processes.
• Able to identify opportunities, redesign processes, evaluate solutions, measure benefits and drive sustainable adoption.
• Understanding of data quality, validation, access controls, documentation and the responsible use of AI in banking.

Required skills

• Experience with Microsoft Copilot, Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate, low-code solutions or similar analytics and automation platforms is advantageous.
