Assistant/Associate Professor – Assessment & Evaluation

About the role

The National Institute of Education (NIE) seeks an Assistant or Associate Professor to join its Psychology and Child & Human Development (PCHD) Department. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate, graduate and professional programmes in assessment, evaluation, applied measurement, applied statistics, research methodology and psychometrics, and contribute to the institute’s research agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deliver and continuously improve courses at undergraduate, graduate and professional development levels.
• Conduct high‑quality research that informs educational practice and policy, particularly in teaching and learning.
• Build an active research programme, publish in reputable peer‑reviewed journals and secure research funding.
• Establish collaborations with local and international academic and professional communities.
• Contribute to curriculum development, programme leadership and institutional initiatives.

Required profile

• PhD (or equivalent) in evaluation, assessment or a closely related field, or will obtain it at the time of appointment.
• Minimum of four years of demonstrated, innovative teaching experience, including use of educational technology.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
• For Associate Professor candidates: a sustained independent academic reputation, high‑impact publications and/or major research grants.
