Assistant/Associate Professor – Physics Education (NSSE)

About the role

The National Institute of Education (NIE) at Nanyang Technological University seeks an Assistant Professor or Associate Professor to advance physics education research and teaching within the Natural Sciences and Science Education (NSSE) Department.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deliver and assess pre‑service and in‑service courses in Physics Education and graduate‑level Science Education.
• Supervise undergraduate, pre‑service, Master’s and Doctoral students, including teaching practicum projects and thesis examinations.
• Participate in departmental, NIE and NTU committees and provide consultancy services to schools and the Ministry of Education.

Required profile

• Basic degree in Physics and a PhD in Education (specialising in science/physics education).
• Record of publications in top‑tier, peer‑reviewed international education journals.
• Ability to teach in English.
• Teaching qualifications; preferably 5+ years of secondary or primary teaching experience with school leadership experience.
• Post‑doctoral research experience and experience delivering professional development for teachers (desirable).
• Successful acquisition of competitive research grants.
• For Associate Professor candidates: sustained international academic reputation, high‑impact publications, major research grants and teaching awards.
