Assistant/Manager, Material Master Data (SAP S/4HANA)

About the role

The Assistant/Manager, Material Master Data will lead the design and implementation of material master data governance within a large‑scale SAP ECC to S/4HANA transformation. Working in a fast‑moving environment, you will translate strategic data policies into practical standards, data dictionaries and operating procedures while partnering with business units, IT and SAP teams.

Key responsibilities

• Interview business units to define data governance problem statements and objectives.
• Co‑develop the overall data strategy and establish a data governance council.
• Appoint and onboard data owners and stewards for critical data fields.
• Implement a new Master Data Management (MDM) platform on SAP BTP to centralise master and reference data.
• Define and operationalise a metadata framework, business glossary and data dictionary.
• Collaborate with the SAP team to design metadata tools integrated with S/4HANA.
• Establish a data quality framework with metrics, thresholds and validation processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in data governance, master data management and SAP environments.
• Ability to work independently in ambiguous, fast‑changing settings.
• Strong stakeholder management skills to drive adoption of new data standards.
• Experience leading change‑management initiatives for data platforms.
