Associate Data Engineer - Financial Planning Data Products

About the role

MUFG Bank is hiring an Associate Data Engineer to join its Customer Strategy & Analytics team in Singapore, which supports and delivers Financial Planning Data Products. The role reports to the head of business intelligence and analytics based in Australia and works closely with regional stakeholders to turn business strategies into actionable data solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business strategies into practical data management approaches and define business cases, requirements and priorities for new data initiatives
• Establish data governance standards across the Asia Pacific corporate banking division and oversee access permissions, provisioning requests and data distribution
• Negotiate Data Service Agreements so that data access complies with internal standards and regulatory controls
• Identify official data sources, validate business definitions, review technical metadata and implement metadata changes
• Define business rules for domain-specific data and oversee remediation plans for quality issues
• Collaborate with technology teams, system owners, operations staff and senior management to ensure accurate reporting
• Design, develop and deploy data pipelines using Alteryx or similar tools to feed the APAC Datawarehouse, automating repetitive tasks

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Accounting, Finance or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years' experience in banking or consultancy with a focus on data management and reporting
• Proven project management leadership to coordinate multiple initiatives under tight deadlines
• Strong communication with technical teams and senior stakeholders across regions

Required skills

• Alteryx for scalable data pipelines
• Tableau, Power BI, Power Apps and ETL processes
• Understanding of data sources, transformation rules and reconciliation across systems
• Experience managing metadata changes and reviewing lineage documentation is highly valued
