Audit Partner

About the role

A fast-growing small-to-medium accounting firm with a stable client base and high-quality assurance accreditation is looking for a seasoned Audit Partner to join its practice. The role sits within the Accounting & Finance department and involves leading external audit engagements from planning through to completion.

Key responsibilities

• Lead audit engagements from planning through to completion, delivering work to agreed requirements and timelines.
• Set the approach for audit work and allocate engagement activity for effective delivery.
• Review audit files, financial information and supporting evidence to provide clear conclusions.
• Provide technical direction on audit matters and resolve issues arising during engagements.
• Act as a senior contact for clients, discussing findings and answering audit-related queries.
• Review draft reports and communications so they clearly present audit outcomes.
• Monitor engagement progress, priorities and resourcing to support timely completion.
• Contribute to the consistent delivery of audit services across the Accounting & Finance department.

Required profile

• Strong experience leading audit engagements from planning to final reporting.
• Sound accounting and finance knowledge and the ability to review complex financial information.
• Proven ability to assess audit evidence and reach clear, well-supported conclusions.
• Experience reviewing audit documentation, reports and client communications.
• Confidence in discussing audit findings and resolving engagement matters with clients.
• Ability to manage engagement priorities, timelines and resourcing requirements.
