AVP, Application Developer - Corporate Internet Banking Platform

About the role

DBS is looking for an experienced, hands-on Assistant Vice President (Senior Engineering Lead) to join its Corporate Internet Banking Platform (CIBP) technology team. Working closely with the Engineering Lead, you will drive the design, development and delivery of strategic platform capabilities across digital channels and business domains, combining engineering expertise, banking domain knowledge and architecture experience. The role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, Business Analysts and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Engineering Lead on the technology strategy and architecture roadmap for the CIBP.
• Lead solution design and engineering delivery for assigned business domains and digital channel capabilities.
• Work with stakeholders and Business Analysts to turn requirements into scalable, maintainable and secure solutions.
• Drive architecture and design reviews, code reviews and implementation governance.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to developers throughout the SDLC, and mentor engineers and junior technical leads.
• Support Microservices, Event-Driven, API-First, Micro Frontend, DevSecOps and modern engineering practices.
• Collaborate with domain teams such as Payments, Accounts, Entitlements, Approvals, Notifications, Dashboard and Shared Services.
• Drive automation, CI/CD, observability, secure coding, resiliency and performance optimization.
• Support release planning, production readiness reviews and issue resolution.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent.
• At least 7 years of software engineering experience, including 2 years in a technical leadership role.
• Experience delivering Corporate Internet Banking, Transaction Banking, Cash Management, Payments, Digital Banking or Corporate Banking platforms.
• Understanding of banking domains: payments, accounts, entitlements, approval workflows, notifications, regulatory and audit controls.
• Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, REST APIs, Kafka/AMQ, SQL and NoSQL databases, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Angular, TypeScript, Micro Frontends and web application development.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps, CI/CD, secure coding, observability, SRE and Agile (Scrum, Kanban, DevOps).
• Tools: Jenkins, GitHub/Bitbucket, SonarQube, JIRA, Confluence; AWS preferred.
• AI-assisted tools such as Claude Code, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and Agentic AI tools.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
