AVP/VP, External Communications, Group Marketing & Communications

About the role

Group Marketing & Communications builds, protects and enhances the DBS brand in an increasingly commoditised banking industry. It works closely with all units of the DBS Group to create and run integrated strategies focused on digital communications, marketing and research. This AVP/VP role leads external communications and corporate reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Enhance DBS' corporate reputation through strategic communications, executive positioning and thought leadership, working with stakeholders to develop and amplify corporate stories and strategic narratives.
• Support senior management and DBS spokespersons on external engagements such as media interviews, speaking engagements, panel discussions, conferences, opinion pieces and contributed content.
• Research and analyse emerging macro trends, business developments and stakeholder issues, turning complex information into narratives, thought leadership and strategic content.
• Cultivate relationships with media organisations, conference organisers, industry influencers and other institutional stakeholders.
• Monitor emerging issues and reputational risks, and support incident and crisis communications with timely, stakeholder-centric responses.
• Use analytics, media intelligence and social listening tools to measure communications effectiveness and provide actionable insights.

Required profile

• A Bachelor's degree in political science, PPE, communications, journalism, economics, business or a related field is advantageous.
• 8-10 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, journalism or a related field.
• Experience in financial services and/or economics is advantageous.
• Proven track record of developing strategic narratives and thought leadership across owned, earned and paid channels.
• Experience supporting senior executives and managing high-profile communications initiatives, including media engagements, executive profiling and issues management.
