Job description
About the role
DBS is seeking an AVP/VP Fund Structurer to join its front-office fund management desk. This hybrid role sits at the intersection of investment product manufacturing, multi-asset trade execution and legal/regulatory engineering. Operating as a licensed representative of the fund manager, the role translates client needs into robust investment vehicles, leads the legal and regulatory setup of Variable Capital Company (VCC) sub-funds, drives best-execution trading and manages the end-to-end lifecycle of the portfolios.
Key responsibilities
- Design bespoke VCC structures with wealth, corporate and institutional teams, and support the full operational and legal lifecycle of VCC sub-funds, including launch, NAV validation, corporate actions, dividends and winding up.
- Draft fund documentation such as offering memoranda and investment management agreements, liaising with internal legal, risk and compliance teams and external counsel, and ensure compliance with MAS VCC guidelines (e.g. AML/CFT).
- Recommend, supervise and manage external lawyers, and prepare and update standard form documentation and guidance notes for new and existing funds.
- Execute trades across global markets (Fixed Income, Equities, Derivatives) as a licensed representative, with minimal slippage and optimal fund performance.
- Assist in portfolio construction, investment strategy positioning and systematic rebalancing, monitor risk limits and market exposure, and work with administrators and custodians on accurate NAV reporting and automation.
Required profile
- Relevant legal experience in banking, asset management or financial services, with exposure to wealth management, private banking or capital markets execution desks.
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Economics or a related quantitative discipline, eligible to register as a licensed representative under the MAS capital markets services regime.
- Strong understanding of fund structures, with hands-on experience or deep exposure to Singapore VCC frameworks and documentation.
- Practical product knowledge of Fixed Income, Equities and Derivatives, and experience executing trades and using portfolio management systems.
- Ability to communicate technical structuring and market details clearly to family office clients and influence senior internal stakeholders.
Required skills
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong aptitude for quantitative analysis and spreadsheet modelling.
- Experience with programming or automation tools such as Python, VBA or SQL is highly advantageous.
