AVP/VP Technology Governance

About the role

We are looking for an experienced IT Governance Lead to strengthen the Line 1.5 technology governance capability within a leading financial services organisation. The role will drive effective IT governance, oversee technology controls, and ensure compliance with regulatory expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mature the IT governance framework, policies and standards in line with MAS technology and cyber‑risk guidelines such as TRM, CSA, COBIT and ISO 27001.
• Provide independent review and challenge to the Technology function on IT risks, control effectiveness and remediation plans.
• Manage governance processes including risk assessments, control testing, issue tracking and control attestation.
• Partner with Risk & Compliance (Line 2) to align risk frameworks and support audits, regulatory inspections and compliance reviews.
• Conduct thematic reviews of key technology domains (cloud, identity‑access‑management, change and incident management) and drive continuous improvement of control design.
• Act as trusted advisor to senior technology leaders, facilitate governance forums and report to senior management.
• Manage and mentor a small team of IT governance and technology risk specialists.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in IT governance, technology risk, IT audit or cyber risk, preferably in financial services.
• Strong knowledge of MAS TRM, ITGC, COBIT, ISO 27001, NIST and related regulatory frameworks.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing small teams.
• Professional certifications such as CISA, CISM, CISSP, CRISC or ITIL are a plus.
