Azure Data Engineer – Synapse, PySpark, PowerBI

About the role

We are looking for an Azure‑focused Data Engineer to join our team in Singapore on a contract basis. You will design, develop and maintain data pipelines and reporting solutions using Azure Synapse, PySpark, Python and Power BI.

Key responsibilities

• Design, review and develop PySpark scripts for data processing.
• Test, troubleshoot and orchestrate data pipelines.
• Create Power BI reports and dashboards with row‑level security and DAX queries.
• Establish connections to on‑prem databases, IoT devices and APIs.
• Manage data storage in SQL servers, file systems, Hadoop, HANA or other Big Data platforms.
• Develop batch ingestion pipelines using copy activities.
• Deploy pipeline artifacts across environments using Azure DevOps.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Azure data engineering, Python and PySpark.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure Synapse analytics and orchestration.
• Familiarity with Power BI visualization, row‑level security and DAX.
• Strong SQL knowledge and experience with data warehouses or data marts.
• Good communication, teamwork and problem‑solving abilities.
