About the role

Join TikTok's Live Recommendation Architecture team as a Backend Engineer Graduate. You will help design, build, and optimise the infrastructure that powers live broadcast recommendations for millions of users worldwide. This is a full‑time entry‑level position starting in 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high‑performance online services for the TikTok Live Recommendation System.
• Build efficient, reliable data pipelines for candidate generation, profile creation, training example generation, and real‑time online training.
• Design and implement large‑scale, global recommendation systems and high‑performance computing frameworks.
• Research, design, and develop specialised computer and network software utilities.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate hardware and software components, defining specifications and performance requirements.

Required profile

• Final‑year student in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience programming in at least one of the following languages: C, C++, Java, or Golang.
• Effective communication skills, strong sense of ownership, and a proactive attitude.
• Ability to work in a fast‑moving, culturally diverse, globally distributed team.
