Banquet Captain – Marina Bay, Singapore

About the role

The Banquet Captain leads the banquet team at a premier Marina Bay venue, ensuring seamless service and exceptional guest experiences. Reporting to the Banquet Manager, you will coordinate staff, oversee operations, and uphold Marriott’s standards of hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and motivate banquet staff to deliver optimal service.
• Inspect staff grooming, attire, and correct deficiencies.
• Perform opening and closing duties, including setup, cleaning, and securing the venue.
• Maintain organized storage areas using FIFO and conduct regular inventories.
• Monitor dining rooms for seating, safety, and guest well‑being.
• Complete work orders for maintenance and coordinate repairs.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
• Enforce company policies, safety procedures, and report incidents.
• Welcome guests, anticipate needs, and provide assistance to individuals with disabilities.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant banquet or food‑and‑beverage experience.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
• No specific license or certification required.
