BIM Specialist (Contract)

About the role

We are looking for a BIM Specialist on a contract basis to bridge regulatory requirements and digital construction workflows. The role will translate building codes into clear user stories, support Agile development, and ensure BIM models meet compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and translate building and planning regulations into clear, unambiguous user stories aligned with Agile methodologies.
• Design rule logic and validation algorithms for automated BIM model checks, defining precise acceptance criteria with measurable pass/fail outcomes.
• Liaise with regulatory consultants, architects, and software developers to facilitate sprint planning, backlog refinement, and UAT sessions for compliance‑related features.
• Collaborate with developers to define data schemas and model element requirements while maintaining living documentation that maps regulatory requirements to technical implementation.
• Serve as the technical expert for BIM software (e.g., Revit, Rhino, Rhino.Inside.Revit) and workflows, providing hands‑on guidance and support to project teams.
• Support the development team by troubleshooting complex BIM issues, proposing solutions, and addressing project‑specific technical challenges.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience gathering user requirements, writing user stories, defining acceptance criteria and working within Agile frameworks.
• Background in QA/testing methodologies for software or BIM tools.
• Familiarity with building regulatory frameworks such as BCA, URA, SCDF.
• Ability to produce professional reports and documentation using Microsoft 365 tools.
