BMS Project Engineer

About the role

Johnson Controls is looking for a BMS Project Engineer to act as on-site project leader, planning, executing and completing assigned building automation projects. The role involves coordinating with customers, subcontractors and the sales team, and supervising assistants and technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Define scope, budget and schedule for projects and set up the device project implementation methodology
• Plan and oversee the work schedule for several small to medium projects, in coordination with the supervisor
• Identify project risks and recommend resolutions; track progress, tasks and project health
• Ensure compliance with codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
• Perform regular quality audits of suppliers and subcontractors and identify and secure variation orders
• Cost control: track and monitor delivery against financial commitments and KPIs
• Work with the sales team on tender bidding and manage reports and documents
• Supervise subcontractors' work at site, schedule material purchases and deliveries, and work with drawings and submissions
• Assign and supervise assistant project engineers and technicians, and handle system application, drafting, database generation and commissioning
• Follow up on customer payments and verify supplier payments, train customers, provide the first-year maintenance warranty schedule and hand over the project to the service team

Required profile

• Degree with at least 1 year of relevant experience in BMS projects
• Ability to interact with clients, consultants and subcontractors
• Willingness to work odd hours when needed to meet deadlines
• Willingness to learn new things

• Excel, Word and Microsoft Project (essential)
• Reading and using drawings
