Business Development Manager – Southeast Asia

About the role

Air New Zealand is seeking a commercially driven Business Development Manager to join its Southeast Asia Sales team in Singapore. The role focuses on identifying new commercial opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and delivering sustainable revenue growth across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic business development plans to meet revenue, profitability and market‑share targets.
• Identify, secure and grow new commercial partnerships while expanding existing relationships.
• Manage key trade and commercial accounts through relationship management, negotiation and performance planning.
• Analyse sales performance, market trends and competitor activity to drive growth initiatives.
• Negotiate and manage commercial agreements that optimise revenue and cost.
• Collaborate with internal Commercial and Marketing teams to create innovative sales propositions and joint marketing programmes.
• Oversee regional distribution channels to improve profitability.
• Support product training, trade engagement and industry events to raise Air New Zealand’s profile.
• Provide leadership and commercial support to Sales team members and General Sales Agent partners.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development, sales or account management, preferably in airline, travel or tourism.
• Strong commercial acumen with a record of delivering revenue growth.
• Excellent relationship‑management and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, changing environment while handling multiple priorities.
