Business Unit General Manager, APAC (Singapore)

About the role

The Business Unit General Manager is responsible for the overall management, performance and growth of a Business Unit within a global engineering and infrastructure group. The group provides engineering, construction, industrial services and maintenance solutions to customers across the industrial, commercial and infrastructure sectors. The role works closely with the leadership team to develop and execute the Business Unit's strategic plan, drive commercial growth, ensure operational excellence, develop talent and manage the resources needed for sustainable success.

Key responsibilities

• Strategy & Vision: develop and execute a 3-5 year strategic plan, align objectives with regional priorities, build stakeholder relationships, identify growth opportunities and drive accountability for strategy and operations.
• Health, Safety & Well-being: foster a strong safety culture, aim for zero accidents and occupational illnesses, promote employee well-being and quality of work life.
• Environment & Sustainability: implement compliance, sustainability and environmental strategies, engage customers, suppliers, contractors and communities, monitor environmental performance and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Team Leadership & Talent Development: coach and mentor staff, recruit and retain talent, develop succession plans, run performance reviews and workforce planning, and foster diversity and inclusion.
• Marketing & Business Development: develop commercial strategies, expand the customer base, oversee sales forecasting, pipeline management and tendering, and support new products and services.
• Business Administration & Risk Management: lead annual budgeting and business planning, monitor financial performance against budget, review proposals, oversee project management and contract administration, and maintain internal controls and risk management processes.
