About the role
The Buyer is responsible for purchasing materials, supplies, machinery, and services for Applied Materials' state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facilities in Singapore. This role collaborates across teams to ensure supply continuity, manage inventory, and negotiate with suppliers.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure supply continuity to enable manufacturing with speed and quality.
- Execute and manage pull‑ins/push‑outs with suppliers to meet MRP demand.
- Lead cross‑functional teams to resolve supply issues with engineering, manufacturing, program managers, and supplier account management.
- Drive purchasing activities to achieve lowest cost while maintaining quality and reliability.
- Lead inventory and expense reduction efforts and manage assigned purchasing projects.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 2‑4 years of purchasing or related experience.
- Strong knowledge of industry best practices and market drivers.
- Demonstrated leadership skills to lead small projects and build consensus.
