Buyer – Procurement (B3)

About the role

As a Buyer at Applied Materials you will be responsible for purchasing materials, supplies, machinery and services that equip our state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facilities. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure supply continuity, manage inventory and drive cost‑effective procurement solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure supply continuity to enable manufacturing with speed and quality.
• Execute and manage pull‑ins/push‑outs with suppliers to meet MRP demand.
• Lead cross‑functional teams to resolve supply issues with engineering, manufacturing, program managers and supplier account management.
• Drive purchasing activities to achieve the lowest total cost while maintaining quality and reliability.
• Lead inventory and excess & obsolete (E&Z) reduction efforts.
• Manage and lead assigned purchasing projects, overseeing cost, schedule and scope.
• Handle complex and sensitive information with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to process improvements and act as a trainer for department purchasing activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 2‑4 years of procurement or related experience.
• Strong knowledge of industry best practices and market dynamics.
• Demonstrated leadership skills to lead small projects and build consensus.
