Buyer – Procurement for Manufacturing

About the role

As a Buyer at Applied Materials, you will support our state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facilities by procuring materials, supplies, machinery and services. You will work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure a seamless flow of components that enable fast, high‑quality production of semiconductor and display technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure continuous supply of parts to meet manufacturing speed and quality requirements.
• Follow up on purchase orders, verify deliveries, approve payments and maintain accurate records.
• Drive timely delivery and resolve shipment, receiving or billing issues with suppliers.
• Partner with suppliers on demand‑supply collaboration, managing pull‑ins and push‑outs to meet MRP demand.
• Support inventory reduction and cost‑saving initiatives.
• Negotiate purchases and RFQs to achieve the lowest total cost while maintaining quality and reliability.
• Resolve supply issues in coordination with engineering, manufacturing and program managers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 1‑2 years of relevant procurement or supply‑chain experience.
• Understanding of key industry business drivers.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to convey complex information.
