Global Cargo Flow Officer

About the role

The Global Cargo Flow Officer will optimise vessel capacity utilisation by planning cargo flow, allocating space and managing equipment repositioning. Reporting to the Cargo Flow Manager, you will collaborate with Trade, Operations and Sales teams to balance demand, maximise network yield and control costs.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor vessel load factors and analyse booking trends to prevent rollovers and over‑bookings.
• Implement medium‑term space allocations (TEU, deadweight, equipment size) and ensure compliance with allocation guidelines.
• Coordinate with Trade, Commercial and Transshipment teams to align cargo plans with market demand and final destinations.
• Handle network disruptions such as port omissions, void sailings or mis‑connected cargo, proposing cost‑effective recovery solutions.
• Generate daily cargo flow reports and evaluate port and vessel performance for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Diploma in shipping, logistics or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in transportation or logistics.
• Strong analytical, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks under pressure and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables and Macros.
