Buyer/Planner 3

About the role

KLA, a global leader in electronics for the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem, is hiring a Buyer/Planner 3 in Singapore. The role covers purchasing of materials and components and production planning, working closely with suppliers to secure timely supply and improve margins.

Key responsibilities

• Purchase direct materials, components and equipment according to the MRP system or re-order point system.
• Review planning reports to ensure materials arrive on time for production.
• Improve gross margin through supplier negotiation on pricing, rework costs and expediting costs, and through localization.
• Reduce material lead times by improving supplier cycle times, negotiating hedges and VMI programs.
• Ensure timely purchase order execution and resolve supplier quality, capacity and material issues.
• Communicate with suppliers about early or delayed deliveries and drive on-time delivery.
• Take part in supplier business reviews and give constructive feedback to improve supplier scores.
• Ensure accurate and timely supplier claims on ECO and EOM projects, and act quickly on ECN and ECO changes so production is not affected.
• Work with the Inventory Analyst to reduce excess inventory, improve inventory turns via MRB and RTV, and review safety stock quarterly.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or equivalent.
• At least 2 to 5 years of related experience in buying and production planning; diploma holders with at least 5 years of experience will also be considered.
• Experience in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment is a plus.
• A basic understanding of the Bill of Materials (BOM) is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
• SAP experience is highly desirable.
