Category Manager, East

About the role

The Category Manager, East is responsible for driving sales growth, margin expansion and inventory efficiency across assigned product categories. You will own the full commercial performance, from range strategy and pricing to promotion effectiveness and supplier profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic plans for assigned categories to meet financial goals and increase market share.
• Translate customer insights, market trends and performance data into clear category priorities.
• Maintain strategic supplier partnerships through joint business planning and performance reviews.
• Manage category assortment, ensuring relevance, differentiation, space productivity and profitability.
• Source appropriate products internationally to match local customer demand.
• Design and implement promotion plans that drive incremental sales and profitability.
• Allocate stock timely, monitor sell‑through and optimise inventory levels with the Supply Planning team.
• Develop competitive pricing strategies that deliver customer value.
• Lead ad‑hoc projects and contribute to a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Degree in Business Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in category management, buying or commercial roles within FMCG or multi‑category retail.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret data and make profitable decisions.
• Excellent organisational, communication and negotiation abilities.
