College Intern – Hardware Test Automation & AI Engineer

About the role

HP is looking for a College Intern to join its LaserJet Hardware R&D Lab in Singapore. The intern gains hands-on experience in LaserJet hardware testing, test automation, engineering data analytics and the use of generative AI and AI agents in R&D test workflows. The internship is full time, with a start around May 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Support hardware qualification and validation activities in the LaserJet Hardware R&D Lab.
• Develop automation tools and scripts to improve test execution, data collection, analysis and reporting.
• Explore and prototype AI-powered solutions and agents for test planning, data analysis, troubleshooting and engineering productivity.
• Analyze and visualize engineering test data to identify trends, anomalies and improvement opportunities.
• Work with hardware and test engineers to understand validation workflows and implement practical automation solutions.
• Document and validate tools, dashboards and AI-enabled solutions for broader team adoption.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer/Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Available for a full-time internship of at least 6 months, starting around May 2027.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an interest in applying software and AI to real-world engineering challenges.
• Ability to interpret data, identify insights and communicate findings clearly.
• Learning agility, collaboration, digital fluency and comfort in a multidisciplinary hardware, software, data and AI environment.

Required skills

• Programming in Python, SQL, R, LabVIEW or similar.
• Exposure to test automation, data analytics, machine learning, generative AI or AI agent development through coursework or projects.
