College Intern - Supply Chain Automation Trainee

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is looking for a motivated and analytical college intern to join its Supply Chain team in Singapore. The trainee will lead a project to automate material availability reporting, which currently relies on time-consuming manual data extraction, consolidation and validation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a project to automate the current manual reporting process using Python programming.
• Transform manual reporting activities into an efficient, reliable and scalable automated solution.
• Contribute to improved supply chain visibility, faster decision-making and better operational effectiveness.

Required profile

• Undergraduate student pursuing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Data Analytics, Business Analytics or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Interest in supply chain operations and digital transformation.
• Self-motivated, curious and eager to learn in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of Python, Excel, Power BI or other data analytics tools is advantageous.
• Learning outcomes include materials planning and inventory control, data analytics, process automation, business intelligence and reporting, and cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing, procurement, planning and operations teams.
