Commercial Manager – Shipbuilding & Marine Projects

About the role

The Commercial Manager will drive business growth and profitability for a shipyard by shaping commercial strategy, nurturing client relationships, and overseeing contract negotiations and cost estimations. This position works closely with engineering, planning, and procurement teams to ensure successful delivery of shipbuilding projects.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities in marine and offshore sectors.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, brokers, agents, and industry stakeholders.
• Review and analyse shipbuilding contracts, ensuring compliance with milestones, variations, and claims.
• Prepare competitive tenders, quotations, and accurate cost estimates.
• Collaborate with engineering, planning, and procurement to validate costs and lead times.
• Facilitate smooth hand‑over from sales/tendering to execution teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Maritime Studies or a related field.
• 8–10 years of commercial experience in marine, offshore, or shipbuilding industries.
• Strong understanding of shipbuilding contracts, cost estimation, and project execution.
• Proven track record in client relationship management and business development.
