Commercial Project Manager

About the role

The Commercial Project Manager will lead the commercial and contractual side of construction projects, ensuring profitability while managing risks. You will work closely with project, procurement, finance and site teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Administer construction contracts in line with terms and project requirements.
• Review, interpret and manage contract documents for compliance.
• Prepare, evaluate, negotiate and manage variation orders and contractual changes.
• Handle contractual claims, including extensions of time, loss and expense.
• Support dispute avoidance and resolution through negotiation and assessment.
• Draft and manage contractual correspondence with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, cash flow and financial performance.
• Prepare cost forecasts, budget updates and commercial analyses for senior management.
• Produce regular commercial reports on profitability, cost status and risk assessments.
• Identify, assess and mitigate commercial and contractual risks throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field.
• 8‑10 years of commercial or contract management experience in construction.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, claims, variation and risk management.
• Experience with cost control, budgeting, commercial reporting and financial analysis.
• Familiarity with standard contract forms such as SIA, PSSCOC, FIDIC or NEC.
