Communications & Media Executive

About the role

Charis Methodist Church seeks a creative Communications & Media Executive to translate ideas into visual content that conveys the church’s vision, mission and goals. Working closely with the Pastoral Team and Communications Committee, you will shape integrated communication strategies for both internal congregation outreach and external public engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement communication strategies to engage the congregation, neighbourhood and expand the church’s online presence.
• Support launch of publicity and digital campaigns for church-wide events and projects.
• Curate and schedule content throughout the year, maintaining a content calendar across online and offline channels.
• Design, copywrite, edit and produce all church communications (bulletins, service slides, notice boards, website, social media, brochures, newsletters, videos) in English and Mandarin.
• Collaborate with Worship & Music Ministry to livestream services and archive recordings.
• Manage all communication channels, ensuring up‑to‑date content on the website, social media, Google Maps, video platforms and email newsletters.
• Provide regular engagement reporting and work with the Communications Committee Chair on additional projects.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Communications, Media or related field.
• Minimum 2 years experience in marketing, communications or related areas.
• Excellent English written and verbal skills; Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
• Self‑motivated, meticulous, proactive learner who works well in teams.
• Availability to work a half‑day on Sundays (off‑day during the week).

• Digital media tools such as Canva, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Telegram, YouTube, Slideshare.
• ProPresenter for service presentations.
• Website platforms like Wix or Squarespace.
