Construction Electrical Engineer / Senior Engineer

About the role

Micron is hiring a Construction Electrical Engineer (Senior Engineer) in Singapore to design, install and commission electrical systems in semiconductor manufacturing facilities. The role calls for strong technical expertise, project management skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget. It is a site-based position requiring full-time presence on the construction site.

Key responsibilities

• Design and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and system layouts for manufacturing, cleanrooms and process areas, and perform load calculations, short-circuit analysis and capacity planning
• Work with the general contractor to specify equipment such as switchgear, transformers, distribution panels and backup power systems (SMS, DUPS)
• Collaborate with mechanical and structural engineers to integrate the electrical design with other building systems
• Act as main point of contact for owners, consultants, contractors and suppliers, set milestones, KPIs and reporting mechanisms
• Guide construction teams, review and approve submittals and shop drawings, and conduct site inspections
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers on procurement, delivery and installation
• Oversee testing, commissioning and handover of power distribution, lighting, emergency power and control systems, and support the transition to facilities operations
• Ensure compliance with codes such as NEC and IEEE, and safety standards such as NFPA, OSHA and MOM, and promote energy efficiency and safety

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in electrical engineering within the semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing sector
• Proven track record managing large-scale, complex electrical construction programs, including installation and commissioning
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards
• Excellent problem-solving, organisational and communication skills, able to work on several tasks at once and in a team

Preferred skills

• Electrical design software such as AutoCAD, Revit and ETAP
• Use of AI-enabled tools, data analytics platforms, digital engineering solutions or automation technologies

Occasional extended hours, weekend work and travel to FATs or vendor qualifications may be required.
