Construction Ultra Pure Water & Waste Water Treatment Manager

About the role

Micron is looking for a Construction Ultra Pure Water and Waste Water Treatment Manager to lead the planning, design, construction, commissioning and handover of Ultra Pure Water (UPW) and waste water treatment systems for semiconductor manufacturing facilities. The role leads engineers, contractors, consultants and vendors to deliver safe, reliable, compliant and operationally ready systems within scope, schedule, cost, quality and performance requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and engineering of UPW and waste water treatment systems, reviewing and approving specifications, equipment selections, layouts, drawings and calculations, and resolving design issues and interfaces.
• Lead construction and installation, manage contractors, subcontractors, consultants and vendors, and develop priorities, milestones, resource plans and mitigation plans.
• Conduct regular site reviews of installation quality, workmanship and system cleanliness.
• Manage discipline scope, schedule, cost, risk, procurement, change control and project deliverables, and update project leadership.
• Lead testing, commissioning, startup, performance verification, stabilization and handover, including acceptance criteria, flushing, cleaning, instrumentation and control verification and water quality checks.
• Coordinate with Facilities Operations, Maintenance, EHS and manufacturing end users, and ensure complete turnover documentation such as as-built drawings, O&M manuals, test records, spare parts, training and warranties.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for significant performance or reliability issues.
• Provide safety leadership, ensure compliance with EHS and environmental requirements, and control risks around chemicals, pressure systems, piping and shutdowns.
• Act as the main point of contact for the scope, lead cross-functional coordination, coach engineers and build strong contractor and vendor partnerships.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Environmental or Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in ultra pure water, waste water treatment, industrial water systems or facility utilities, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Demonstrated construction and project management capability across contractor management, schedule, cost, risk, quality, interfaces, change control and system turnover.
• Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience delivering UPW and waste water treatment systems for semiconductor facilities and managing large-scale construction and commissioning.
• Experience in water recycling, water reuse, sustainability and treatment-system optimization.
• Experience with BIM, digital engineering, project data analytics, automation or AI-enabled tools.

The role combines office-based planning and engineering coordination with significant on-site presence during construction, installation, testing, commissioning and startup; extended hours or support during critical milestones may be required.
