Contract Manager – Construction Projects

About the role

The Contract Manager will join the internal Senior Project Management Team to oversee all contractual aspects of construction contracts. This role provides expert advice, ensures proper contract administration, and supports dispute resolution throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the Senior Project Management Team meetings chaired by DPD/SOR to monitor progress and resolve internal issues.
• Prepare contract documentation, including Conditions of Contract, Particular Conditions, ITT packages, and related tender information.
• Review tender submissions from a contractual perspective and assemble contract documents for award.
• Assess and manage contractor claims, variation orders, extensions of time, and other contractual matters during execution.
• Draft contractual responses, letters, and client communications for review and sign‑off by senior officers.
• Review monthly progress claims and payment certificates before approval.
• Liaise directly with the client’s Project Director, Deputy Director, and legal team on contractual issues.
• Coordinate OE input to dispute resolution processes such as mediation or arbitration.
• Organise and chair contractual meetings with contractors to resolve issues and prevent escalation.

Required profile

• Experience working within senior project or contract management teams on construction projects.
• Strong understanding of contract administration, tender processes, and claim management.
• Ability to prepare clear contractual documentation and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proactive approach to identifying and resolving contractual risks.
