Cost Controller

About the role

The Cost Controller will join METT Singapore, a heritage hotel within the Sunset Hospitality Group portfolio. Reporting to the Finance team, you will be responsible for monitoring food and beverage costs, managing inventory movements, and ensuring accurate stock records to support the hotel's profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and control food & beverage costs by identifying waste, pilferage and operational inefficiencies.
• Prepare cost variance analyses and communicate trends and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Maintain up‑to‑date records of receiving transactions and inventory movements in the hotel’s systems.
• Review and improve existing cost control procedures, recommending enhancements to internal controls.
• Produce daily cost reports and monthly management reports for decision‑making.
• Coordinate scheduled and ad‑hoc inventory stock takes, ensuring accuracy and accountability.
• Verify deliveries against purchase orders, record discrepancies, and manage timely distribution.
• Conduct regular storeroom inspections and monitor cycle count results, escalating significant issues.

Required profile

• Experience in cost control or inventory management within a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with restaurant operations, purchasing, stores and finance teams.
• Good communication skills for reporting findings and recommendations.

Required skills

• Proficiency in inventory and cost control procedures.
• Ability to prepare and interpret variance analyses.
• Familiarity with hotel inventory management systems.
