Crude Commercial Analyst

About the role

The Crude Commercial Analyst will support BP's trading and origination activities on the Crude desk in Singapore. You will work closely with traders, originators and internal partners to deliver accurate exposure data, market insights and analytical support for commercial decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Validate daily exposure, pricing and hedge effectiveness (flat price, FX, MOCs) in line with the book strategy.
• Monitor market sentiment, price movements and emerging trends to provide timely commercial insights.
• Develop and apply a strong understanding of trading fundamentals and commercial drivers for crude trading and origination.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports, summaries and communications for internal stakeholders.
• Support compliance with trade‑field governance frameworks and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute ideas and practical solutions to improve processes, controls and ways of working.
• Coordinate regional business‑development opportunities and analyse live origination projects.

Required profile

• Experience in commodity trading with strong analytical and numeracy skills.
• Exposure to commercial agreements, negotiations and deal support.
• Proven ability to interpret market data, deal structures and trading dynamics.
• Strong written communication with attention to clarity and accuracy.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence across teams.
• Self‑starter who can prioritize workload autonomously and solve business problems.
• Comfort communicating market sentiment and trends in an accessible way.
• Interest in continuous improvement and efficiency gains.
