Customer Engineer – Field Service (Singapore)

About the role

As a Field Service Engineer (Customer Engineer) at Applied Materials, you will act as the direct liaison with customers, installing, maintaining and upgrading semiconductor and display equipment. You will use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply diagnostic techniques to resolve technical issues.

Key responsibilities

• Perform Tier I service activities independently and Tier II with assistance.
• Execute routine preventative maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic and gas systems.
• Conduct quality repairs and verify operational quality of equipment.
• Communicate with fab engineers, join escalation calls and support issue resolution.
• Follow checklists, procedures and IP guidelines, and document work using knowledge‑management systems.

Required profile

• Physical demands include extensive walking, standing, lifting up to 35 lb, working in tight spaces and clean‑room environments.
• Strict adherence to safety procedures and use of appropriate personal protective equipment (coveralls, safety glasses, respirators, etc.).

Required skills

• Electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic and gas system knowledge.
• Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams.
• Proficiency with diagnostic testing equipment and digital analytics for troubleshooting.
