Customer Engineer (iTeam) - Field Service Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring a Customer Engineer (Field Service Engineer) in Singapore. The engineer acts as the direct liaison with customers, helping them install, maintain and upgrade equipment, using digital analytics for troubleshooting and applying basic diagnostic techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Senior Field Service Engineers on installing, maintaining and upgrading customer equipment.
• Use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques, with guidance from seniors.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic and gas systems (training provided).
• Coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations and exceptional service.
• Take part in projects and assignments that meet organisation goals and carry out additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Completion of an associate degree, military technical training, field service experience or trade certification.
• 1-2 years of work experience in customer/field service support or a related technical field; preferred: 2-4 years.
• Able to travel up to 75% of the time to support overseas customers and meet on-site safety, environmental and customer protocols.

Required skills

• Reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving basic technical challenges.
• Basic mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum or thermodynamics.
• Familiarity with hand tools and digital multimeters.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Effective written and verbal communication.

The position is full-time and regular. Relocation is not eligible.
