Data Architect – Commercial Banking & AML (Contract)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Data Architect to lead the design, build, and governance of enterprise data platforms that support Commercial & Corporate Banking, with a strong focus on AML, financial crime, and regulatory data across multiple APAC markets.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement Data Lakehouse solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and define end‑to‑end data ecosystems covering ingestion, storage, modelling, analytics, and governance.
• Lead ground‑up platform builds, overseeing data engineering streams such as pipelines, orchestration, quality, lineage, and metadata.
• Partner with analytics teams to ensure data models support BI, reporting, AML monitoring, and regulatory use cases.
• Implement and maintain data governance frameworks, including stewardship, lineage, and quality controls.
• Communicate architecture decisions to business, technology, and regional leadership and influence cross‑functional decision‑making.
• Work across APAC markets (Thailand, Korea, Japan, Myanmar, India, Philippines) and travel quarterly as needed.
• Contribute to broader cloud architecture, integration patterns, and enterprise services, supporting IAM, networking, and security.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise data roles.
• Strong exposure to Commercial/Corporate Banking and AML/Financial Crime data domains.
• Proven track record delivering large‑scale, multi‑stream data programs in APAC environments.

• Data Lakehouse technologies (Delta Lake, Iceberg, Hudi).
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Data modelling (conceptual, logical, physical).
• ETL/ELT tools and orchestration frameworks.
• Metadata management and data lineage.
• AI/ML integration capabilities.
• IAM, networking, and security fundamentals for cloud environments.
