Data Engineer (AI Tech Services)

About the role

NCS, an AI tech services company and subsidiary of the Singtel Group, is hiring a Data Engineer in Singapore. You will build and maintain scalable data pipelines, integrate multiple data sources and ensure high-quality data processing for analytics, reporting and machine learning. The role works closely with analytics, product and infrastructure leaders to advance the company's data and analytics platform.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain ETL pipelines for centralized data storage systems
• Integrate data from databases, APIs, log files, streaming platforms and external providers
• Build data transformation routines to clean, normalize and aggregate data, and handle complex or inconsistent datasets
• Contribute to code development and deployment frameworks and best practices
• Implement data governance in line with company standards
• Design and operationalize pipelines with analytics and product teams, and advance cloud-based data platforms with infrastructure teams
• Explore tools such as Azure, Databricks or related platforms, and monitor pipelines to detect and resolve issues
• Build monitoring tools, alerts and automated error-handling mechanisms

Required profile

• Open to a wide range of experience levels, including fresh graduates
• Good experience designing data solutions including data modeling
• Experience with batch and real-time data processing
• Understanding of DevOps tools, Git workflows, CI/CD or MLOps pipelines
• Preferred: defense logistics domain knowledge, Scrum practice, SAP functional knowledge and ABAP experience

Required skills

• Talend, PySpark and SQL (advanced features)
• Pipeline orchestration with Talend, ADF, Airflow or similar
• Preferred: Kafka, Flink, AWS Kinesis, Qlik BI, Azure, Databricks
