Data Scientist – AI & ML Solutions

About the role

GovTech is seeking a Data Scientist to independently drive data science initiatives across multiple use cases. You will own projects from scoping to deployment, collaborating closely with stakeholders to deliver impactful AI solutions for Singapore's Smart Nation vision.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end data science projects, from requirement gathering to production monitoring.
• Translate complex business problems into scalable technical solutions.
• Design, implement, and optimise machine‑learning and AI models for performance and cost efficiency.
• Build robust data pipelines and MLOps/LLM workflows using cloud services.
• Deploy models with comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and maintenance procedures.
• Advocate responsible AI practices, identifying and mitigating ethical and governance risks.

Required profile

• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Proactive problem‑solver who takes ownership of outcomes and supports peers.

Required skills

• Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) development.
• Cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• MLOps and LLM workflow implementation.
• Data pipeline design and automation.
• Responsible AI and ethical governance awareness.
